Saint Thomas Seminary
Academic Credit
You can, if you choose, achieve up to 18 undergraduate credits for your work in the Catholic Biblical School (CBS). Saint Thomas Seminary and the Catholic Biblical School are accredited by the State of Connecticut Department of Higher Education.
“For-credit” students enroll in classes with non-matriculating students. Additional assignments and standards apply as described in the course syllabi:
- CBS 100 (4.5 credits)
- CBS 200 (4.5 credits)
- CBS 300 (Advanced Year A) (4.5 credits)
- CBS 400 (Advanced Year B) (4.5 credits)
CBS 100 and CBS 200 must be taken in sequence and are pre-requisite for taking the Advanced Years. CBS 300 and CBS 400 can be taken in any order.

Upon completion of all course requirements for CBS 100, 200, 300 and 400, students will be awarded the Saint Thomas Seminary Certificate in Biblical Studies.
