Adult Confirmation

Remember, then, that you received a spiritual seal: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of knowledge and reverence, the spirit of holy fear. Keep safe what you received. God the Father sealed you, Christ the Lord strengthened you and sent the Spirit into your hearts as the pledge of what is to come.

– Saint Ambrose

For Parishes:

If you are planning to offer Adult Confirmation sacramental preparation:

  • We ask that you keep our office informed regarding your Adult Confirmation Preparation offerings, as we get a large number of inquiries and would like to direct those inquirers to their [nearest] parish. If your parish is offering Adult Confirmation Preparations, please email us.  For a list of parishes offering Confirmation classes, click here
  • We will be coordinating the Adult Confirmation ceremonies in the fall and in the spring, but preparation for the sacrament takes place only in the context of the parish.

Spring 2023

The next Adult Confirmation Ceremony will be on May 9, 2023 at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph, Hartford. The ceremony will begin at 7:00 p.m., however, those being confirmed, as well as their sponsors, should arrive no later than 6:15 p.m. for a brief rehearsal.
