Catechetical Leaders

“On the lips of the catechist the first proclamation must ring out over and over: "Jesus Christ loves you; he gave his life to save you; and now he is living at your side every day to enlighten, strengthen and free you… nothing is more solid, profound, secure, meaningful and wisdom-filled than that initial proclamation."

Pope Francis, Evangelii Gaudium

Eucharist gathers us, nourishes us, and sends us out in mission to become Christ’s presence in the world.  Parish communities can transform the faith formation and sacramental preparation of children, youth, adults, and families by placing the Eucharist as the center of all formation. This workshop and retreat will provide an opportunity to reflect on the richness of the Catholic faith’s teaching about Eucharist along with a chance to explore ways to implement a Eucharistic vision for ministry to engage people of all ages who seek to grow in faith and receive the Sacraments. This will include practical ways to help members of our parishes to encounter Christ and live the Eucharist as disciples.

Faith formation leaders will extend this conversation by exploring a way to share about Eucharist in a family faith festival. Youth Ministry leaders will learn more about ways to be a witness of our experience of Christ’s presence.

Workshop for Faith Formation Leaders:

Celebrating Faith and Empowering Families through Faith Festivals

How can we connect saving, life-giving, Good News of our faith with families today?  Many parishes are finding that gathering families for faith festivals to share and celebrate faith provides a rich opportunity to inspire families, provide coaching for parents, and encourage faith sharing at home.  These festivals connect families to the seasons and celebrations of the liturgical year while providing families with practical ways to share faith, pray, and engage in ministry and service together.  This workshop will explore vision, models, and resources for implementing family faith festivals, including resources for providing a faith festival on the theme of Eucharist.
