Archdiocesan Award Ceremony

An Archdiocesan tradition is returning this spring! The Archdiocesan Award  Ceremony will be June 2, 2024.The ceremony will take place at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph, Hartford. Faith Formation Leaders are asked to nominate dedicated catechists and inspirational teens who deserve recognition for all they are doing to help build up the Kingdom of God in the Archdiocese of Hartford. A listing of the awards and their descriptions can be found below. 

Faith Formation Awards

Innovation in Family Catechesis

This award will be given to parish faith formation leaders who have boldly chosen innovative ways to engage parents, children and youth with the aim of evangelizing entire households. These leaders are encouraging the mission field of families who are growing in faith and developing a relationship with Jesus in their daily lives with the guidance of their faith formation leader. Recipients of this award will be nominated by the Center for Catholic Education & Formation.


Years of Service 

Catechists are the hard-working, dedicated volunteers who give life to Faith Formation programs in our
parishes. These individuals devote their time, talent and energy to the youth they serve. The Faith Formation Service Awards honor those men and women who have dedicated ten, fifteen, twenty, twenty-five
or more years of service to religious education in parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Hartford.

Youth Ministry Awards

Light of the World

This award is given in recognition of a parish/school recommendation to confer upon Catholic adults (21 and over) who have faithfully lived their baptismal call through dedication and service to Youth and Comprehensive Youth Ministry and have made significant contributions to the spiritual welfare of youth and/or their families.


Discipleship Award

This award is given in recognition of a parish/school recommendation to confer upon Catholic youth who have exercised their baptismal call, served as role models in terms of Mass attendance and Catholic Social teachings, and selflessly served their peers with unwavering commitment and dedication.
